Edinburgh was not actually used as a filming location for any of the Harry Potter movies; however, it was the city where J.K. Rowling wrote many of the Harry Potter books and she has lived here since 1993. There are many locations across the city that will be of interest to Harry Potter fans. Because so many of the actors are incredibly talented, it is no surprise that the Harry Potter franchise isn't the only time they've shared the screen.
